Lauren Pavelle, LCSW
As your therapist, I consider it a privilege to be part of your journey toward growth and healing. Whether you’re seeking clarity, fulfillment, or relief from specific stressors, I am committed to supporting you through this process.
In our work together, I prioritize authenticity, transparency, and a sense of agency. I challenge the traditional notion that therapy is a relationship between a “sick” person and a “healthy” one. Rather than seeing myself as an expert tasked with “fixing” something, I view therapy as a collaborative space where we co-create new ways of being and relating to others. My clinical style is warm, genuine, direct, and actively engaged.
I deeply value the exploration of both conscious and unconscious processes, believing that increased self-awareness can lead to profound change. I view the therapeutic relationship as a powerful tool for this exploration, helping to uncover the roots of patterns that contribute to distress, discontentment, or stagnation. Through this process, we can identify pathways to greater satisfaction and vitality.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Chicago and have completed extensive post-graduate training in psychodynamic theory and practice. Additionally, I integrate skills-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when appropriate. My work is primarily depth-oriented, with a focus on older adolescents, young adults, and adults, though I also have experience in higher levels of care.
